Welcome to the Burbank Unified School District Web site! The Burbank community is very
proud of its school system, which has a reputation for educational excellence, strong
leadership, and active parent and community involvement. As evidence of this excellence,
100% of Burbank's schools (both comprehensive high schools, all three middle schools, and
all of our eleven elementary schools) have received the State's highest award for
excellence - designation as a California Distinguished School. In addition, the District's
continuation high school has been selected as a Model Continuation High School by the
State of California.
Over the past two years, the District and Burbank community have developed a comprehensive
Strategic Master Plan which provides the vision, goals, and action plans to guide
educational and budget decisions and prepare our students to be responsible, productive
citizens and life-long learners in a diverse and changing global society. This Master Plan
is available at our Web Site for you to visit. In addition, master plans have been
developed for specific interest areas, including: counseling and guidance services;
technology; services for our limited English proficient population; special education
services; facilities renovation; and vocational education. Each plan provides the focus
and direction for the development of curriculum, instruction, and services within the
District.
